Service Technician

Basic Function
MRG is seeking an individual to join our team as a Service Technician. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for commercial customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
  • Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.
  • Startup installed equipment and adjust to the manufacturer’s and job’s specification.
  • Perform required documentation for each call, recording recommendations, repairs, accurate readings, and observations. Have client sign necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to make ethical and responsible decisions while keeping the customer and our company interests in mind.
  • Provide sales personnel with qualified leads and opportunities.

Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting HVAC services issues or at least 3 years of experience performing maintenance on your own for a company.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret plans and manuals.
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills, both oral and written.

Boiler Service Technician

Basic Function

We are currently seeking candidates for a Boiler Service Technician position.  This position is responsible for startup service, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs for commercial packaged boilers – high and low-pressure steam vessels and hot water boilers.

  • Maintain and repair boiler systems for commercial customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
  • Travel to job sites in service area and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers.
  • Startup installed boilers and adjust to the manufacturer’s and job’s specification.

Skills

  • 5 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting boiler service issues.
  • Extensive experience with industrial steam, combustion, common combustion control systems,
  • Should have working knowledge of Hydronic Systems; Non-condensing & Condensing Boilers, Scotch Marine Boilers, Pumping Systems (Condensing/Chilled Water/Hot Water/Steam/Domestic)
  • Must have experience working on common steams boilers and power burners.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret plans and manuals.
  • Ability to understand and execute a proper sequence of operations as well as assist and manage the controls contractor, mechanical contractor, manufacturer and engineer to assure a proper sequence of operation has been established and is executed.
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills, both oral and written.
